Writing workshop series - "RUMORS" [working title], by the Taiwanese artist Hong-Kai Wang.
Invitation to participate in a Lydgalleriet workshop We hereby invite you to participate in a workshop at Lydgalleriet. The workshop is part of the development of material for the project “rumors” [WORKING TITLE], by the Taiwanese artist Hong-Kai Wang. The project is developed for Lydgalleriet in Bergen and will conclude in an exhibition scheduled for February 2015. In the development of the project emphasis will be on the process of reading, listening and writing particularly as a sonic form of thinking. We would like to invite you to participate in the project and we would appreciate your contribution. The project thematically investigates how collective narratives in a society are developed, and especially how public conscience of political symbolic figures are founded on shared narratives. Of particular interest is the status of “reality” within these narratives. The subject in this collective reading and interpretation is ‘social bandit’ – a term coined by the historian Eric Hobsbawm in his 1959 book Primitive Rebels, a study of popular forms of resistance that also incorporate behavior characterized by law as illegal. The development of the project has the form of a series of workshops and we would like to invite you to participate in one of the workshops. No particular skill-set or special knowledge is required. The workshops will take place in Lydgalleriet. Østre Skostredet 3, on the following dates: November 25, 10-13 November 26, 10-13 November 27, 10-13 If you are interested in participating please send an email to Rune Søchting: email@example.com, and write which day will suit you, and you´re welcome to participate as many as you like.
